Terms of Service
Last updated 3 September 2026
The short version: Covate is free, it is provided as it is, and you can stop using it whenever you like. What follows is the detail.
These terms
These terms are the agreement between you and DUOCODE TECHNOLOGY, a sole proprietorship registered in Malaysia under registration number LA0087244-A ("we", "us"). They cover the covate.org website, the Learning Center articles, and the learning ledger you reach by signing in. Using the site means accepting them; if you do not accept them, please do not use it.
The Covate MCP server is separate. It is open-source software published under the MIT licence, and your use of it is governed by that licence rather than by these terms. These terms start to apply the moment it talks to covate.org.
The service is free
Covate costs nothing. There is no paid plan, no subscription, no trial and no checkout anywhere on this site, and we collect no payment details. If that ever changes, paid features would be something you opt into, and these terms and the privacy policy would be updated before they existed.
Your account
- Signing in requires a GitHub account, and your use of GitHub remains subject to GitHub's own terms.
- An account is for one person. Please do not share it.
- You are responsible for what happens under your account, and for keeping your sync token secret. If it leaks, rotate it in the dashboard — that invalidates the old one immediately.
- You may stop using Covate at any time. Signing out clears the session; email us if you also want the account and its data deleted.
Acceptable use
Do not:
- upload material you have no right to upload — including code, summaries or quiz text covered by an employer's or client's confidentiality obligations, and personal data about other people
- use a sync token that is not yours, or try to obtain one
- attack, overload, probe or otherwise interfere with the service or the systems it runs on, or try to reach data that is not yours
- use Covate to break any law that applies to you
- scrape or republish the Learning Center wholesale — quoting it with attribution and a link is welcome
Because your learning sessions are generated from your own code, decide before you sync whether that content is yours to share. Covate cannot make that judgement for you.
Your content
What you sync stays yours. You give us permission to store it, process it and show it back to you — that is what the ledger is — and nothing beyond that. We do not use it to train machine-learning models, and we do not sell it or hand it to anyone other than the service providers named in the privacy policy.
Availability
Covate is offered as it is and as it happens to be available. We promise no level of uptime, and we may change, suspend or discontinue any part of it — the hosted ledger included — at any time, with or without notice. Data may be lost when that happens.
The MCP keeps your learning sessions on your own machine, which is where the sync client reads them from. The ledger is a second copy, not the only record; please treat it that way.
The Learning Center
The guides are general information, written to be useful. They are not professional advice, acting on them is your decision, and we may add to, edit or remove them.
Intellectual property
The site's text, design, logo and the Covate name belong to DUOCODE TECHNOLOGY. The Covate MCP server's source code is published under the MIT licence and may be used on those terms.
Suspension and termination
We may suspend or remove an account that breaks these terms or puts the service or its other users at risk. Where it is reasonable to do so, we will tell you why.
No warranty
Covate is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including any implied warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy or non-infringement.
In particular: the quiz questions, answers and explanations are generated by the MCP on your machine from your own code. We do not warrant that any of them are correct, and you should judge them on their merits.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent Malaysian law permits, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss, for lost profits or business, or for lost or corrupted data arising from your use of Covate. Because the service is provided free of charge, our total liability to you for any claim relating to it is limited to RM100. Nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.
Indemnity
If someone brings a claim against us because of content you uploaded, or because you used Covate in breach of these terms, you agree to cover the reasonable costs of dealing with it.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Malaysia, and the courts of Malaysia have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising out of them or out of your use of Covate.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms; the date at the top says when we last did. Continuing to use Covate after a change means you accept the updated terms.
